Ms. Ebony Bozeman, Assistant Principal of Curriculum

  • Mrs. Ebony Fulcher Bozeman was born in Jacksonville, FL and grew up in Sylvania, GA, where she graduated with honors from Screven County High School. She then attended Claflin University on a full academic scholarship. Upon her graduation from Claflin, she became a Research Chemist for the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA). After a short career with the FAA, she left and pursued a career as an educator.  She began her teaching career as a middle school science teacher in Dillon, SC. From there, Mrs. Bozeman migrated back to her home in Jacksonville, FL.  She taught Chemistry at Sandalwood High School for some years, then married and moved to the U.S. Territory of Guam.  While on the island, Mrs. Bozeman taught science, math and music at St. John’s School and Andersen Air Force Middle School. Upon returning to Jacksonville, FL, Bozeman taught high school science and math for 10 years at Andrew Jackson High School. She was the 2019 Andrew Jackson High School Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Bozeman received her master's degree in Instructional Design and Technology with a concentration in Distance Learning from the University of West Florida in 2020. She went on to pursue her Educational Leadership certificate in 2022. She is a member of the Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She is married with three children. Mrs. Bozeman is currently the Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Darnell-Cookman Middle/high School of the Medical Arts. Mrs. Bozeman’s motto is “if you can dream it, then you can achieve it.”

     

     

Mr. James Dent, Assistant Principal

  • Mr. James Dent is the Assistant Principal for Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts.  Mr. Dent started with Duval County Public schools ten years ago.  He began his career as an Art teacher at Eugene Butler (YMWLA), he then came to Darnell-Cookman as an Art teacher.   He left the classroom to serve as Assistant Principal for Duval Virtual Instruction Academy, then he stepped into the position of Assistant Principal at Darnell-Cookman.  In addition to serving as AP, he also oversees testing.  Mr. Dent is a natural coach. He is always providing both students and teachers with help based on their individual needs, so that they can be and do their best.
