    Greetings!

I am very proud to have the opportunity to serve as the Principal at Martin Luther King, Jr. School of the Arts! The 2022- 2023 school year is going to be a great success filled with new learning opportunities and adventures. Prior to this school year, I served as the assistant principal here at MLK for five years and the assistant principal of Lake Forest Elementary for two years. I was also the reading coach at Sallye B. Mathis for two years. I am a strong believer that teaching students to read is the one integral key to success in life. I have 8 years of experience in teaching both the foundations of reading and strategies to assist with comprehension. I like to motivate people around me to grow and build self-capacity. I attended the University of North Florida where I was captain of the Cheerleading squad and a proud member of the dance team. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.8. I am a wife and mother of three and a dedicated educator. I know with all hands on deck this school year, it will be a successful year that we will never forget.

Team work makes the dream work!

    Principal,

    Andrea Willis
