ACHS Career and Technical Education Academies

  • Career and Technology Education courses prepare students for college and careers in computer technology, digital video and engineering. The coursework involves using best practices to complete real-world activities to offer students the understanding and use of technologies, for career seekers or college-bound students.

Currently, many of the CTE courses offer opportunities for students to earn industry certifications, college credit through AP Exams, or internships with local companies.  Industry certifications give employers confidence that the student has a basic understanding of technology skills that are now ready to be put to task in the work force.  Basic certification awards include engineering design in Fusion 360, AIT offers an Information Technology Specialist in HTML & CSS certification, digital video design and production with Adobe Premiere Pro and AfterEffects, and DIT with CompTIA Fundamentals+.  Each course that offers an industry certificate is taught by an instructor that holds at least the same industry certificate. Other certifications may be offered if they become available at the district and state level.
