• Arrival and Dismissal

     

     

    Student Arrival:

    The building opens for students at 8:00 a.m.  Please do not drop off your child before this time.  We do not have supervision for students prior to this time and your child could be subject to inclement weather without shelter. Teachers are on post at 8:00 a.m. to provide supervision for our students.  Please help us keep your child safe by adhering to the established policies and procedures.

     

    Morning Car Riders:

    Students arriving to school by car should be dropped off in the car circle only. Please do not drop students off prior to 8:00 or after 8:30.  If your child arrives after 8:30, please escort them to the front office. 

     

    Tardy Policy:

    The first bell rings at 8:25 a.m.  The tardy bell rings at 8:30 a.m.  Students are considered tardy as of 8:30 a.m. If you child tardy, please walk them to the office. 

     

    Student Dismissal:

    Students in K-5 are not permitted to be checked out of school after 2:15 pm (or 12:15 pm on Early Release Days).

    VPK students are not permitted to be checked out of school after 2:00 pm (or 12 pm on Early Release Days).

    Students are organized according to their afternoon transportation.  Faculty and staff are instructed to only honor written directions regarding changes in transportationPlease do not call the front office to change your child’s mode of transportation.   Verbal information received from students or parents is not allowed.  Please allow us time to organize students and ensure that we can account for them. 

     

    Afternoon Car Riders:

    All afternoon car riders must obtain a hanging car tag number from the front office.  For the safety of all, please remain in your vehicle and allow us to call for your child.  Parents that park across the street and walk to the school should identify their child(ren) as walkers, not as car riders.

     

    Walkers:

    If your child is a identified as a walker they will be released at 3:00 p.m.   Walkers will be escorted to the sidewalk in front of the cafeteria that leads to the crossing guards.

     

    Visitor Passes:

    A visitor’s badge must be obtained from the front office upon entering the building. All visitors must show an ID to check in. This procedure is in place to ensure the safety of all students. Visitors must check out with the main office before leaving the campus. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.  If you wish to speak with your child's teacher, please schedule a conference with the teacher.  You may call the school at 739-5260 or email the teacher directly.
