    GENERAL REGULATIONS

    1.         See the Dates of Athletic Contests Schedule for practice start and game dates.           

    2.         A match consists of the best two out of three games.  Rally scoring will be used.  Twenty Five (25) point games are played (with the winner being two (2) points ahead).  Game times will be determined by the scheduling committee.

    3.         An official leather game ball will be used.  The home team is responsible for furnishing the game ball.

    4.         The designated home team is responsible for arranging:

                a)         Facilities and equipment.

                b)         Qualified line judges.

                c)         Score sheets.

                d)         Line up sheet.

                e)         Roster (names and numbers).

                f)         Designated payment to officials will be determined by the principals.

                g)         Stopwatch.

                h)         Flip cards or scoreboard.

                i)          Scorekeeper.

    5.        Court protocol for game warm-up will be as follows: Pre-game coaches and captain conference at 20 minutes prior to match time. Fifteen (15) minute warm-up period (6-6-3) shall precede all matches as follows:

                a)         First six (6) minutes (visitors) have court, the home team may practice ball- handling outside of the six-foot area from the volleyball court sideline on a side court area with volleyballs if the facility permits (this provision does not apply to auxiliary gyms)  

               b)          Second six (6) minutes (home team) has the court, the visiting team may practice ball- handling outside of the six-foot area from the volleyball court on a side court area with volleyballs if the facility permits (this provision does not apply to auxiliary gyms) 

              c)           Last three (3) minutes both teams on the playing court practicing serving the net and receiving (opponent’s serves only)

     

    TIEBREAKER RULES

    A.  If there is a tie(s) for 1st place in the standings, then the results of the in-season head-to-head   competition shall be used to break that tie. If the tied teams split the in-season head-to-head competition, proceed to B below.

    B.  One Game Playoff

    C.  The team with the best overall record will host the playoff game.  If the overall record is tied a coin flip will determine the host.

     

    CHAMPIONSHIP RULES

    Teams will be seeded based on record for the championships.  #1 vs #4, #2 vs #3.  If teams are tied based on record, then a coin flip will determine the seeding.  This seeding will also be used for the championship game and consolation game in regards to home team and jersey color.
