• Cinematic Arts students at a shoot Cinematic Arts

The Cinematic Arts Department develops the young filmmaker's abilities in digital storytelling.  A strong emphasis is placed on producing both narrative, and documentary films that examine the human condition, and inspire audiences with hope and compassion.

The department includes state-of-the-art studio and editing facilities, where students learn the complete process of filmmaking. Students attending the Cinematic Arts will receive instruction in screenwriting, cinematography, film studies, directing, animation, and post-production. Additionally, students will have real world opportunities to work on actual film sets often with professional artists in the industry.

The films that the students have produced from script to screen, have captured honors and awards at such illustrious film festivals as the; National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) in Seattle, the Austin Film Festival in Texas, YoungArts in Miami, the All-American Film Festival in NYC, and the Cineyouth Festival in Chicago. The focus of the program is to prepare students to become confident filmmakers via either post-secondary education or direct entry into the film industry. Our students leave the program with a mastery of the filmmaking process and a familiarity for the newest technologies in filmmaking, making them the storytellers of tomorrow.
